Greetings City of Aiken & Kingdom of Atlantia!! Our fourth annual Not Quite Quarterly Braggin' Rights (NQQBR IV) Tournament and Demo is coming June 15th, 2024 at Virginia Acres Park in Aiken, SC! What is NQQBR IV you ask? ALL THE THINGS!! We will have a Heavy Armored Weapons Tournament! We will have a Rapier Tournament! We will have Living History Demonstrations, Classes, and an Arts & Sciences (A&S) contest. Show up, Show out, and you'll have Braggin' Rights that you attended the most fun public demo in 3+ years!! Tournament Champions and A&S Contes winner will also go home with fantastic prizes worthy of Gloating, and EVERYONE will go home with an event token of tokens! It's a WIN WIN WIN!! How do you attend? Simply SHOW UP!! Registration is not required, and the event is ENTIRELY FREE!! Theme & instructions forthcoming. 12:30 pm Join us at the field to learn what the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is and What it's like to be on the field as a heavy and rapier fighter! 1:30 pm Under the pavilion, explore Classes and Hands- on skills of the world Pre- 1700s. Please come ask questions & learn your new passion! 1:30 pm Optional Fighter & Rapier pick ups and hands-on fun if time permits. FightingHeavy & Rapier Tournament, structure TBA
Arts & Sciences:This year's theme is going to be "Opening Eyes: Share Your Passion". If you were to introduce a newcomer to your favorite art, what would you make? What pattern, technique, style, or design would you start a novice on and why? Display your most basic example of the art form you are passionate about with instructional hand-outs for those who would like to make it THEIR new passion. Be ready to answer questions as needed, or have a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) sheet available. Think of the tips and tricks that you had to learn by doing, and include those as well. Help a newcomer have a shallower learning curve than you did! Bring pictures of your journey over the months or years to show off if you are able. It will be populace vote. Prize structure TBA, but will include prize cup(s) and a gift basket. Classes & Hands on demonstrations will be there also.

Other:Pavilion is about 300 feet from a wheelchair accessible building with ramps and wheelchair accessible inside restrooms. The site will be a grass and dirt area with a covered pavilion which has a step up and no ramp. Day shades and small pavilions allowed. Cars must be parked in the parking lot, which is also about 300 feet away. Parking lot contains handicap spots.

Directions:
If coming from Augusta, take Jefferson Davis Highway until you reach Hitchcock Pkwy. Take a right. Take this until it turns into Pine Log Road. Take a left on Whiskey Road, and the Park will be directly on your right. If coming from Columbia, take the 20 west until you reach exit 22 onto Columbia Hwy. Take a left onto Rudy Mason Pkwy. This will turn into Pine Log Rd. Keep going. When you reach Whiskey Rd, take a right and the park will be on the right.
