Join us for a day inspired by one of history’s most fascinating women, Empress Theodora of Byzantium.
Theodora, famed for her intelligence, beauty, and political acumen, was also a passionate supporter of the arts, patron to weavers, sculptors, jewelers, and performers who transformed the Byzantine world into a masterpiece of color and grace. This event invites all to explore the elegance and innovation of Byzantine art, from the luminous mosaics of Ravenna to the intricate silks of Constantinople.
There will be classes, displays, and competitions for artists and artisans of every kind. We hope to have dancing and a fiber solar. The day will end with a feast worthy of an empress, inspired by the flavors of Constantinople. Whether you come to teach, to learn, or simply to enjoy good company and beautiful things, we invite you to honor the ruler who made art part of her empire’s soul.
