**PLEASE BE AWARE** For directions from the south, currently there are bridges out on both Hester Store Road and at the end of 135 where it meets Hwy 8. Detour signs should be posted. Please check your route before traveling. Safe travels!

celebrating the traditions of both Christmas and
Solstice with an SCA flair.
This Event is a Toy Drive for Country Santa
(http://www.countrysanta.org/) . Your event fee is a
new unwrapped toy to benefit needy children.
Please bring an additional unwrapped toy for each
competition you plan to enter whether martial or
A&S (martial or A&S). Your generosity will help
children in upstate South Carolina have a happy
holiday season. Please take a moment to checkout
Country Santa’s website and see what they need
most.

REFUND POLICY: Refunds will be given only if the
event makes a profit. Exchequer must receive refund
requests in writing no later than 7 days after the
event. All refunds shall be paid by check from the
Barony’s checking account. No refunds shall be
issued until the event books have been closed.

General Activities
Martial Activities:
There will be Armored Tournaments, Rapier
Tournaments, Thrown Weapons, and Archery. Archers
are challenged to compete for the right to be the
Next Baronial Archery Champion! More Information

RAPIER TOURNAMENTS
There will be two rapier tournaments held at Yule Toy Tourney. The first will be a Black Sword single elimination tourney where each combatant is asked to bring their best to the field. The second tournament will be a Prowess Tourney. What is a Prowess Tourney? It is a tournament designed to test a fighter's skill in each of five rapier weapons forms (single sword, sword and dagger, sword and hard parry device, sword and soft parry device, and case). There will be a multiplier assigned to the number of wins in each weapon category (1 to 5). For each individual fencer, the category with the highest number of wins will receive the lowest multiplier. Correspondingly, for each individual fencer, the category with the fewest number of wins will receive the highest multiplier. In this scenario a fighter can maximize their score by having the same number of wins in each weapons category. Fighters are free to choose their own opponents and weapons forms (weapons forms do not have to match). They will fight a single pass and the winner will report their victory and weapons form to the MOL. Fighters are free to fight as much or as little as they like. Tentatively plan to run the tournament for 60 minutes.
A&S:
Arts & Sciences Competitions
Food or Drink: A dish or drink that would not only keep you warm during those long Siberian winters but would also put you in the Christmas spirit. The dish/drink should comply with SCA and site restrictions (reminder, this is a dry site) Documentation: minimum of original recipe, culture, and time period it came from is required, if original recipe is different from recipe used that recipe is required also.
Entertainment: Something that will keep your mind off the cold Siberian winters and put you in the Christmas spirit. This is open to all forms of entertainment; music, a poem, games, dancing, as long as it something that can be easily taught to children. Documentation: if entry is of your own creation a minimum of what inspired you is required. If you are recreating a historical form minimal documentation is required.
Open Display: Show us what you are working on! It can be a new passion you have started, something you are working on, or something you have hidden away that you made years ago. Show off your artistic passion!
A&S Champion: A new A&S Champion will be chosen at Yule Toy. To compete for this title you must send a letter of intent to our Posadnik and Posaditsa. Then you will need to enter in the food or drink, Entertainment, or Open Display categories. These entries must be Green & Gold themed and have documentation.
Iron Artisan: Yule Edition You will be shown a table covered with a wide range of items. Your challenge is to make a Christmas gift from those items before your time is up. You can bring any tools or other items to aid in your creation from home.
Lady Milicent Shively Scroll Blank: Sharing the scribal arts was a deep passion of the late Lady Milicent Shively. We wish to honor her legacy of skill and talent with a Memorial Scroll Blank Challenge at Yule Toy Tourney. Bring all your scroll blanks to present to the populace for choice. Scrolls will be donated to the use of the Barony in honor of our late prolific scribe, Lady Milicent. As Millicent loved to see scrolls of all levels of expertise, this challenge is open to any and all who wish to participate. The only request, (but not a requirement), is that a Lily is included somewhere in the illumination (whether hidden, or the focus of the design).
