General Activities
Martial Activities:
Marshal In Charge: Dame Dealla Cohen, Deallac@juna.com
Rapier will start with authorizations and inspections at 9:30 am. This will be followed by a double-elimination, atlantian speed tourney , at 10:15 sharp; if you are not there and ready, you'll simply miss that tourney.
This will be followed by a capture-the-flag resurrection field battle, with multiple timepoints for checking on flag ownership - this will ensure everyone gets in sufficient melee fighting before the heat of the day!
We will then have a brief break for lunch and setting up the afternoon theme-based scenarios (in no particular order):
1. Since BotB is a Lochmere/Storvik event, we will have a "Capture/Defend the Baroness" scenario with a teddy-bear baroness for each of the two sides.
2. The theme for the event is "Song and Saga" - but who can tell sagas without appropriate beverages? We will have a "gather the mead" scenario - there will be a central bucket full of water, and each fighter will be given a cup for gathering water and bringing it back to your team's bucket, which will be located near your res point. You may also steal water from the other team's bucket if they are so foolish as to leave their mead hall (res point) undefended. You may not carry a weapon in a hand holding a cup.
3. Of course, you also can't tell songs without your skald! Each team will select one individual to be their skald, who you must keep alive.
4. Chaos melees: small team, single-life melees with new people being constantly fed in, creating chaos. This is great training for large-scale melees in which you find yourself with different people coming back from res.
Greetings, Storvik, I have the pleasure of serving as your Armored MIC for Battle on the Bay on September 7th! Inspections and authorizations will begin at 9:30 am and the fighting will start at 10:15 am (sharp, no ‘SCA time’). See below for the planned scenarios!
We will begin with a double-elimination Atlantian Speed Tourney to determine the victor of the Titan Challenge. If you want a shot at the Trident, be ready and in armor BEFORE 10:15 am.
This will be followed by a Herd the Sheep scenario, back by popular demand. This scenario will feature unlimited resurrections and include combat archery (CA). ‘Sheep’ will be scattered around the field with each team aiming to ‘herd’ them into their team’s ‘pen’. The team with the most ‘sheep’ after the time limit minutes wins. We will then take a short break.
Next we will hold a Control the Midpoint Bridge Battle. Like the previous battle, this scenario will be unlimited res and include CA. Resurrection points will be on either end of a ‘bridge’ with a flag in the center. Points will be awarded at regular, but undisclosed, time intervals based on who controls the flag. The team with the most points after the time limit wins.
Finally, we will hold an Open Field Battle. This scenario will include CA and will feature limited res. The last team standing will win this scenario. For those who have energy left, we will end the armored activities with pick-ups.
If you are interested in volunteering as a marshal or MIT, please let me know!
