Arts & Sciences:At this year’s Highland Havoc, we want to see you bring your favorite marginalia to the foreground! On the margins no more, we want to see displays of the lovely, quirky, funny, weird bits of art found on illuminated manuscripts front and center for this A&S Challenge. Think outside the parchment when it comes to reproducing these for the challenge. Some examples include embroidery and three dimensional representations. They can be on functional items, like a belt pouch, or wholly modern items, like a doll of a whacky angel. Surprise us! Delight us! Have fun and take chances! We encourage you to make use of modern techniques and supplies if it will help your vision come to light! Documentation is not necessary, but we would love to see the original inspirations for your display (a printout or a QR code to a digital image are both acceptable). Please email moas@highlandfoorde.atlantia .sca.org to let us know by November 1, 2023 if you plan to display. Feedback will be available on request, but this is not a competition. Please reach out if you have questions!
