Event Information

Summer University
(2024-06-08 - 2024-06-09 - Site opens at 8 AM & Closes at 7 PM)
Bright Hills

Cost: In-person There is no event fee charged for attending the University of Atlantia. It is funded by donations and the sale of merchandise in our on-site and online bookstore (https://www.bonfire.com/store/universit y-of-atlantia-bookstore/). We ask for donations of $5 per person. If you cannot afford a donation, you are still welcome to attend.

Because of the arcane nature of SCA financial requirements, we can only accept donations in cash or by check made out to SCA/Kingdom of Atlantia with University of Atlantia in the memo line. We are also unable to make change, so please bring smaller bills if you can. There will be someone on site who can privately assist with making change for donations and bookstore purchases in a limited capacity. Note: if there is a fee for the class, it is paid directly to the instructor. Please check in first at the Bright Hills table and present your membership information or sign in as a nonmember. This is important to ensure that we are in compliance with SCA regulations and have an accurate headcount of attendees. Second, come to the registration area to pick up instructor rosters, student class rosters, and/or register for classes on site.

Registration: The University of Atlantia catalog will be available on the University"s web page (www.university.atlantia.sca.org). Preregistration will open on Monday, May 6, 2024 and close at midnight on Wednesday, June 5. Please pre-register! Pre-registration allows instructors to be prepared for the number of students expected. If a class is full, pre-registration puts you on a wait list in case there is an opening. Pre-registration requires you have an Atlantian AEL account or that you create one. Preregistered students can pick up their class rosters at the registration table. Non-preregistered students can sign up for classes depending on space available. Students can adjust their class schedules at the registration table.

Food & Lodging: Breakfast can be purchased at the farmers market held at the site on Saturday. A fund-raiser lunch prepared by the Bright Hills Cooks" Guild will be available for purchase on site. There are also numerous restaurants within close driving distance. A list of food and lodging places is here: https://tinyurl.com/uet4t886

Calendar: Track proposals due by midnight on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Individual class proposals due by midnight on Wednesday, April 10. Instructor review period Friday, April 25 through midnight on Thursday, May 2.

Student registration opens on Monday, May 6 and closes at midnight on Wednesday, June 5. Watch the University of Atlantia website (www.university.atlantia.sca.org) or Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/UniversityOfAtlantia) for details and updates.
