Holiday Court of Volodymyr the Great

The year is 988 and Prince Volodymyr Sviatoslavych, first of his name, has decreed that a Holiday Court and a grand Feast will be held at his palace in Kyiv. In addition to local subjects, friends and allies from the Baltic region have also been invited to attend. Attendees are encouraged (but not required) to dress accordingly. Please join the Barony of Lochmere in a day of feasting, the arts, fun, and friendship in the Eastern European tradition.

Arts & Sciences:A&S Competitions * General A&S Competition: Submit a pan-Slavic piece of A&S! Provide minimum documentation of what, when, where, and how (consider using the EZ Doc form found here as starting point: EZ Doc). Judging will use the generic rubric from the Atlantian MoAS website: General A&S Judging Rubric. There will be categories for beading and embroidery, but all forms are welcome to enter and compete in the general competition. There will be best in category winners selected for all three categories. Bonus points will be awarded for Ukrainian specific pieces. * Taste of Home - Ukrainians regard bread as one of the holiest of all foods and welcome visitors with a piece dipped in salt. Bake and share a bread with the populace who will choose their favorite. Please provide a complete ingredient list. Open Display: Space will be provided for artisans to display their most recent projects, completed or in progress. Classes: Psyanky, Gandry (Ukrainian Beading) and others TBD. Feast:A sumptuous eastern european feast is being prepared by Lady Katla for 56 lucky gentles. The menu will be posted on the website. Reserve early, reserve often!

Other:Lunch: A fundraiser lunch will be available for $10. The proceeds will go towards purchasing loaner armor for the new fighters in the Barony. A vegetarian option will be available. Trade trinkets and gems for points and get to know other guests. Test your knowledge of early regional history in our trivia game. Prizes will be awarded to winners of both.

Registration Notes:Refund Policy: The exchequer must receive a refund request by mail or e-mail no later than five (5) days after the event. Refund requests via Facebook message, text, or posts to the event page will not be accepted. All requests received prior to the event will be honored. Refund requests received at or after the event will be honored only if the event made a profit. Refund requests for feast at the event can only be honored if the feast spot is resold. No refund requests will be issued until the event books are closed and all reservation checks have been cleared by the bank. Refund checks will be issued no later than forty-five (45) days after the end of the event.

From Annapolis, MD: Take MD- 2/Solomons Island Rd toward Solomons Island. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit and stay on MD-2/Solomons Island Rd. Destination will be on the left. From Washington, DC: Take exit 11A from I-495 to merge onto MD-4/Pennsylvania Ave toward Upper Marlboro. Continue to follow MD-4.
