General Activities
Martial Activities:
Equestrian:
Please provide your negative Coggins Test before unloading your animals. You can email Epy Pengelly, Armiger beforehand with your Coggins Test to ease unloading your equine the day-of.
There is a fenced arena for activities and water for horses is available on site. Stalls are not available. Equines may be tied to your trailer or small paddocks may be set up. Camping is only open to equestrians. Please contact Epy by 11/05/2025 if you plan on camping.
Planned activities include:
– Pretty Pony Parade — we encourage all equestrians to bring their and their animals’ finest outfits to showcase their equines! No documentation needed.
– Mounted Archery (no loaner gear available)
– Traditional Challenge Course Games (rider recommended to bring ring lance, sword, quintain lance, and javelins)
– MVP Groundcrew and MVP Equine competitions
– A new Target Archery and Equestrian Challenge — this time we’re changing up the teams!
Archery:
Archery Range will open at 10:00 AM for inspections.
In keeping with the theme of the event, this will be an equestrian-inspired shoot from 10:00 AM until TBA. The shoot will lean into challenges that reinforce skills related to mounted archery (e.g., shooting from atop a stationary wooden horse, and other such exercises). A special prize will be awarded to the top overall archer, and prize arrows to the best scoring archers.
A&S:
This year, Highland Havoc takes inspiration from Enbarr, the legendary horse of the Irish sea-god Manannán mac Lir. Swift as the wind and able to travel freely over both land and sea, Enbarr carried heroes into adventure, and stands as a symbol of freedom. In 2025, Highland Havoc’s A&S activities will celebrate the connections between horses, Ireland, myth & legend, and the sea.
Class Interest for Highland Havoc: Do you have an equestrian-related class you’d like to teach? Or perhaps one about Irish mythology, history & culture? What about topics related to the sea? Consider teaching a class at Highland Havoc this November! Please fill out the Highland Havoc Volunteer Form to reserve space and get on the schedule. Be sure to include a note about your availability windows of time to teach. The deadline to submit a class is 10/30/2025.

A&S Display Information:
Horses, Ireland, Mythology & the Sea (Display) — This year’s A&S Display is inspired by Enbarr, the mythical steed who raced freely over land & sea. We invite you to share projects that celebrate horses, Irish culture & history, mythology, and the sea. This display welcomes creativity in every form — crafted, performed, or researched. Let Enbarr’s spirit of freedom and exploration guide you, as we celebrate the beauty of legend, and the creativity it inspires! EZ Doc forms will be available on-site to help attendees understand your project. Participants will also be able to request “feedback” or “no feedback” — and this preference will be prominently posted at your display.
Petite Pretty Pony Parade (Display) — Have you ever wanted to outfit a horse but didn’t have the ability to? This is your opportunity to do so — on a smaller scale! This A&S display is simple: Make a period outfit for your favorite toy or stuffed horse, and place it on the display table! Documentation isn’t necessary, but it is welcome for any who choose to do it. Feel free to make the equine’s outfit out of any material you choose to achieve your desired look; the goal is to have fun! You can find examples here.
Please contact the Highland Foorde MoAS, Tala al-Zahra, if you have any questions or concerns about A&S at Highland Havoc. MoAS AT highlandfoorde.atlantia.sca DOT org
