Publishing Deputy for The Oak

Reporting Positions: None

The purpose of this deputy position is to serve as the primary liaison between the Editor of The
Oak and the Kingdom Chronicler’s office to support the regular publication of PDF versions of
The Oak through the Kingdom Newsletter channels.

This position is responsible for:
● The creation and publication of twice yearly PDF issues of The Oak- ideally in January
and July of each year.
○  Note: this is done in Canva. The Publishing Deputy should either be comfortable
with the platform already or willing to learn!

● Leading regular conversations with the whole Oak team regarding articles to include,
design choices and decisions for upcoming issues and ensuring that publications come
together in a timely manner.
● Soliciting any articles or inclusions from the Kingdom Minister of Arts and Sciences, The
Editor, and any other Officer positions that may want to provide included material, such
as the Kingdom Deputy for Competitions.
● In person and online solicitation of content submissions for The Oak from artisans at
events.
● Support of the web and social media teams, including helping conceptualize social
media messaging regarding upcoming publications, creating content, and helping to
coordinate messaging with the publishing calendar.
● Assisting with the review of Creative Release forms to ensure that any published content
is being used consistently with the consent given in those forms.
● Coordinating with the Kingdom Chronicler’s Office to ensure smooth publishing
processes.
